REAL FOOD, REAL HEALTH – Healthy lifestyle change done your way!
Real Food Real Health is a vibrant and local community-based NHS programme that empowers people to improve their health, manage their weight, and (where relevant) support type 2 diabetes management in a way that works for you and is sustainable in the long-term.
To do this, all information in the programme is based on the latest scientific evidence, it combines emphasis on ‘real food’, practical dietary health education, coaching psychology, and community connection – all delivered in a friendly and supportive environment in community venues, by NHS dietitians and health coaches.

What to expect on the RFRH 8-week Courses
On the 8-week courses, we’ll provide you with a structured journey through all the latest information on nutrition, health, exercise, the science of behaviour change and goal setting, delivered in a group setting from a local community venue over 2 hours each week with others in similar positions to yourself.
During the sessions, we’ll cover a range of topics and provide you with tools to help you make the changes that matter to you. The focus is on weight management & diabetes, if applicable, as well as a range of conditions that can be supported by making changes to our diet and lifestyle. Together, we’ll identify your values and goals, build healthy habits and behaviours, and you’ll leave feeling empowered and confident about making any future changes to your diet and lifestyle.
Please note: we have new courses starting in January, April and September each year. To get the most of the 8-week course, you’ll need to commit to the full 8 weeks, as each session builds on the last, and sessions run on weekday daytimes in person or online on Thursday evenings.
RFRH Monthly Community Group
The Monthly Community Group runs on the 1st Friday of each month (term-time) from 10-12, at a local Chorlton venue and is delivered by NHS Dietitians and Health Coaches.
These sessions are optional, so you can come to as many or as few as you like. This suits people who are currently unable to commit to the 8-week courses, would like a taster before doing the 8-week course, or have completed the 8-week course and want to continue learning and receive support and motivation from the group and facilitators.
We cover a broader range of topics than in the 8-week courses, though they are underpinned by similar information, so they are complementary to the 8-week courses. We sometimes have guest speakers or cover topics suggested by group members.
Previous topics include: Mythbusting dietary misinformation, Behavioural Activation (centred around increasing motivation for change), Vitamins & Minerals, the Psychology of Eating and many others.
